@kennymichaelalanya7134 maybe this was part of square's and nintendos plans all along, they didnt release a real geno because they didnt want people to know what he looked like and get to thinking they should remake the game. So they waited until the game was almost complete to shock fans.

I know that Geno is the fan favorite in this game (which is…fair he is mine too) and he got most people excited in the trailer, but it warms my heart that people also got excited when Mallow appeared in the trailer too. He is the goodest Frog boy from Nimbus Land!!

Wow, you included Super Mallow's reaction too? In his reaction video, he said ran a Super Mario RPG fansite, started a few remake campaigns, and even claimed to have kickstarted the Geno for Smash Bros. movement, which I find rather fascinating. Even if not everyone who wanted Geno in Smash Bros. followed his lead or did it because of him, it does help to explain why the movement was so massive and persistent if he was essentially in charge of a community and various organized efforts.

I wanna believe the people who seen the release are a majority of people who only heard of or seen the game but never played it. Cause 30 years of waiting most people would given up hope and move on but hopefully the torch was passed to the next generation who were on the same boat as their parents of the game deserving a remake or a sequel.

I'm one of the people who has played SMRPG and gave up hope long ago, the "remake rumors" felt like bait so i didnt believe them. needless to say i nearly passed out the minute i saw the intro cutscene

Even though the game is quite a bit older than me I still got to play this game as a kid thanks to the Wii's Virtual Console. I'm sure a lot of people from the newer generation were able to play it on Wii or Wii U VC (or an emulator) and were waiting for this moment as well.

I’ve never played and I can’t wait! Grew up on the GOOD Paper Mario games and Mario and Luigi but missed out on the OG RPG. I cried when they were all standing around the star. This is really special and unreal that this is happening and it touches me to see so many people get together and geek over this game!

There are so many people who were convinced, as I was, that the copyright troubles between Nintendo and Square would have left this game on the shelf forever. We’ve been asking for Geno in literally any new games or something to show that people remember this for years. Many didn’t dare to dream. Now, the dream is real.

PapaGenos is gonna have a Fun time again playing the Remake. This Nintendo Direct was Absolutely Insane. 2023 has been an Amazing Year for Super Mario, the Movie and Games. Really can't wait to play the Remake of Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros Wonder! It's looks Incredible and Happy to see Daisy as a Playable Character.
